Property Ratings at Wyndridge Nominee Apartments
This is a non-smoking complex (inside units); however, we lived in two units that both had smoke in them and ultimately had to break our lease on account of the smoke, as the complex was unable to resolve this health-affecting issue in a timely manner. The first unit seemed okay at first, except a closet smelled like cigarette smoke. Over time, the smell got worse, esp when the heat or A/C was on. The complex manager (who started shortly after our arrival) attempted to resolve the issue by investigating if smoking was happening in our building and (when it was determined that the problem was smoke reside from a previous resident in our unit) getting the air ducts cleaned--to no avail. We had an air filter running as well. The smell was so bad that we hesitated to use the heat or a/c. Evidence was found that someone had tried to mask the smell when we moved in, which accounts for it getting worse over time -- and is deceptive. I suffered negative health consequences from the smoke exposure. They wouldn't let us out of our lease but gave us the option of signing a new lease on a different (more expensive) unit. We toured it first, and it seemed fine. But a few days after moving in, we discovered our neighbor was smoking marijuana regularly inside his apartment, with the result that pot smoke smell invaded our apartment. Despite efforts to seal our apartment better, the smell kept coming in. The manager tried to resolve this issue, but our neighbor simply didn't smoke inside when warned that an inspection was imminent--and returned to his practice after the inspection. We had to open windows/doors to get fresh air in, hide in a sealed off back bedroom, etc. Meanwhile, some possessions from the smelliest room of the first apartment continued to smell like cigarettes. It became clear that we'd have to wait weeks or more for a resolution, if one would come at all. We had already suffered negative health consequences and were afraid of more; we finally had to break our lease. This cost us a couple of months' rent plus lawyer fees. Mind you, pot is still illegal in WI: our neighbor was breaking the lease and the law--yet we were the ones on the hook for thousands. The manager running things during most of our time there was as helpful as she could be, but Bielinski sets up their leases so that tenants have no recourse if smoke is a health-affecting problem in this "non-smoking" complex. I would not recommend living here if your lungs matter to you.
We lived at Wyndridge for 3 years. The good: The apartment was good, the location was great, maintenance for apartment up-keep was wonderful. The bad: The yard was unusable because of dog poop. The facility provides waste cleaning stations, however, all pet owners are not held accountable for cleaning up after their pets. Also the "gym" provided for residents consists of a few pieces of old, outdated cardio equipment. You can expect your rent to go up every single year, guaranteed. If you need a short-term (1 year or so) place to live and you don't mind dog poop, this is a quiet place to live. If you want long-term (over 2 years), I would look elsewhere. Good luck!
I lived in the Wyndridge Apartments for nearly two years, and I had a terrific experience. The facilities were well kept and were always ran professionally. Finding a place that made me feel welcome and that allowed my dog was critical to me. At Wyndridge apartments, I found that. The surrounding neighborhoods and the community feel I had within the complex made me feel safe and at home. Management was always friendly and even went out of their way for me a number of times. I recently bought a new home and had to break my lease sooner than expected. Lynn and the rest of the Wyndridge team bent over backwards to make sure that my unit was filled by my move out date so that I didn't have to pay rent when not living there. I was returned my security deposit and the transition couldn't have gone any smoother. Honestly sad to leave and must say that it was the best apartment rental experience I've had.
Wyndridge is a clean, well taken care of property. The apartments are nicely laid out and are finished to a decent quality (7/10) which in my experience is high for this kind of an apartment. Rent is pretty steep but the underground heated parking is amazing. We rarely hear neighbors but that is to be expected I suppose with most residents being the family type. Its unfortunate they don't allow grill's (although a lot of residents have them) and it does get old having to constantly walk up/down stairs to get to your vehicle even if you are on the ground floor.
I've lived here a little over a year now and I honestly love it. It feels more like a neighborhood than an apartment complex. The apartment itself is nice, amd the staff have always been helpful whenever I've needed maintenance or some other assistance. The only reason I say nearly perfect is because I wish they had a pool during this hot summer and that the gym was a tad bigger. All in all, it's a beautiful community!
I was skeptical of apartments after living in a house for years..but I'm in my 2nd yr living at Wyndridge, and have absolutely loved living here! My view is gorgeous, it's so quiet, and my neighbors could not be nicer! Guests say Wow everytime they see how stunning and spacious my upper 2 bdm is, especially the bdms and bath szs etc. Lynn and Mark respond immediately (I was shocked) anytime I've needed any maintenance-which I've never heard of that anywhere else!
