Stroll down Main Street in Downtown Tigard and you'll discover a picturesque shopping district nestled among the trees, defined by brick-paved walkways and period lighting. This is the heart of the city, a Norman Rockwell painting come to vivid life, complete with art walks, corner bistros, art galleries, and sidewalk cafes. Downtown Tigard is home to the only glass-blowing art studio in the region, Live Laugh Love Art, which also offers classes. Very walkable and bicycle-friendly, Downtown Tigard is the ideal setting to get out and enjoy a sunny day.
Tigard is named for the city's founder, Wilson Tigard, who arrived here in 1852. In 1880, he built a home for his son, John Tigard. This charming house museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located just south of Downtown Tigard at the corner of Canterbury Lane and SW 103rd Avenue.

Property Ratings at Tigard York
4 dollars for a single load of laundry in a room that has a sunken in floor so the washer is literally tilted. RATS. Very limited parking no surplus option. Dumpster is a disabled persons nightmare, I’m talking steep lids and slippery mud all around the base literal flood zone when it rains.
I’ve lived at The York for a little over a year now and here is my (long) honest review and things I wished I knew: 1. The water bill for a 2 bd/1ba is around ** $140/month for two people in a 900 sq ft unit ** . A 3rd party takes the entire water usage for the complex, “takes some off the top for landscaping and the laundry facilities”, then divides up the remainder based on the amount of registered people and sqft of each unit. Most complexes charge anywhere from $0-$80, so this is an insane amount to be paying for water, and I really wish I had known!! 2. Be prepared for some seriously poor maintenance. It takes weeks for them to come, and you are lucky if they actually fix things well. When they repaired our leaking bathroom ceiling they left the new bathroom fan attached with duct tape and never came back to finish it. It stayed like that for months before we realized it wasn’t even working because our bathroom was growing mold. When they came back they fixed 75% of the repairs we asked about, and said they would be back soon for the rest. They didn’t return for a week and a half so I expressed my frustration with the property manager, and she scheduled them to come the next day at 2:15pm. The day they were coming we found a mouse in our unit and I texted her to send them ASAP. No reply. I sent two more texts throughout the day - no reply & no show from maintenance. The following day I threatened to call a pest control service myself and deduct it from rent. I got an immediate response and was told that the property manager was out sick (so whoever had access to the messages just decided to ignore them). By the end of the week the mouse issue was resolved, and they said they would be back for the other repairs. Again, it took them a week and a half to come back, and only came because I reached out, again. This is a common theme. When I try to talk to Trion about these issues they have short-term solutions and focus only on getting one issue fixed as opposed to hire more people for the maintenance team, or give them more billable hours Lastly: There are 50+ units, one dumpster for garbage, and four small trash cans for recycling. Trash is overflowing by the end of the week, and the recycling bins fill as soon as they get emptied. Parking is a nightmare for guests. You get one parking pass per unit, but there are only 10 (maybe) guest spots, and almost guaranteed to be full.
It looks so much better then it did when my husband and I moved in. It seems that the empty apartments got fixed up really nice inside. And the manager on site has great communication he always keeps us informed. The workers on site are very friendly and very helpful. I personally think the rent is good for how fixed up they made the place. Anyways if I were you I would rent. Winco and Walmart are 5 min drives away and so is the dollar store.
