Located just five miles north of the Mason-Dixon Line, Hanover is a York County borough brimming with historic charm. Incorporated in 1815, Hanover contains a bevy of beautifully preserved homes with rustic appeal in addition to numerous historical sites such as the Warehime-Myers Mansion and the Neas House.
A walkable downtown also contributes to Hanover’s vintage appeal, featuring rows of specialty shops, local restaurants, and various small businesses in well-preserved buildings. Additional shopping opportunities abound along Route 94, Eisenhower Drive, and throughout North Hanover Mall as well.
Hanover residents enjoy the area’s small-town feel as well as short driving distance to larger cities like Baltimore and Washington, DC. Codorus State Park also sits within close proximity to Hanover, offering plenty of options for outdoor recreation.

Property Ratings at York Village Apartments
The apartment was rented in awful shape, wall damage, stained carpets, bulbs out, and bathroom fan not working. Our cats were infested with fleas from the apartment itself. Laundry room flooded constantly and was shut down for 4 months, so we had to go to a laundromat. Parking is terrible and non-tenants would park and dump trash there constantly. Roaches outside our unit and in the hallways, lights in hallways out and not replaced for months. Out stove broke and wasn’t replaced for a month. Neighbors constantly making whole building reek of pot. Nearly impossible to get ahold of property management and maintenance. Was told rent didn’t go up year to year and it went up $100 per. Gave emergency notice of leave six months before lease was out (to leave two months early) and was told it would be okay as I had medical documentation, and that I would t have to pay additional two months. Now a debt collector says I owe $1k for that, even though I was never contacted by the apartment management regarding this. The place is a health hazard and business practices are inconsistent at best. Do not rent here, EVER!
DO NOT RENT HERE! I don't care how desperate you may be to find a place, this is not the one. The laundry room is disgusting, covered in webs and bugs and half the washers/dryers don't work. My apartment had a large hole in the bathroom wall on move in, half the light bulbs were shattered which I needed to replace, and numerous other damages (the list was about 2 pages long to ensure they didn't try to charge for them). On top of it all, a month and a half before the end of lease I spoke to the manager to find out the procedures for moving out, did everything I was told to do and was told I was good to go. That lease ended in january, and now they (the manager and the corporation that owns the building) are saying I need to pay for one more month of rent because I did not give proper 1 month notice. I repeat, DO NOT, under any circumstances, move in here. It is overpriced, terribly run, and will try to squeeze every cent out of you.
The property is constantly infested with roaches, fleas, and ants. Management refuses to treat for pests until after it's a problem. The laundry rooms and hallways are filthy and musty. Police are constantly on site for disturbances. Many units have mold issues in the basements. If it's snowing and icy you're SOL since the parking lot won't be plowed or treated so you're stuck. The "on-site management/maintenance" are rarely on-site during business hours and never answer calls or voice-mails. The whole property is a hazard to health and safety.
The place has poor management. It has roaches and fleas. The management is never available on phone or off. They refuse to take care of their property and don't help out their tenants.
I miss my apt that me and my husband had! It was nice, quiet, good area.
This is a 2 bedroom apartment. Hardwood floors, easy to care for. Very quiet. Rooms right size for my husband and I. Love it.
Broken fans, thin walls, and a number of other small problems plague York Village Apartments. You are out of luck if your neighbor decides to start vibrating your apartment into a pulp with unreasonably loud music. The management has changed and since then things have really gone down hill. If you really must live here be sure to ask your neighbors about the noise and if they know why the previous tenants moved out.
