Property Ratings at Zephyr Pointe
Zephyr Pointe like any other apartments of its kind has to forego many changes in order to adapt to the needs of its residents and the community as well and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the Zephyr Pointe management and staff are making big strides in becoming one of the most sought after apartment in Reno Nv. One reason is the two maintenance workers Shannon and David who are seen every day giving 100% to ensure that the Zephyr Pointe apartments with all of its wonderful amenities are run like a well oiled machine five stars.. They both were seen returning Walmart carts which are left on the Property everyday by tenets who leave them after shopping /The Walmart management was alerted and presented David & Shannon a Walmart gift card to show their appreciation. Just imagine if they take time out to return carts to Walmart just imagine what great work they are doing on the Zephyr Pointe property. David and Shannon are doing their part but it takes the Zephyr Pointe community to do their part as well and take pride in and around our homes to ensure this wonderful place remains clean and safe for all.. Thanks Shannon and David five stars??????????
I have lived here now for exactly one month. So far, I love it. The complex overall is fairly quiet and clean. Depending on which building you go to though, that varies. Management is very helpful and kind, but pretty much keep to themselves unless you need them. Parking for me has never been an issue, as I've read in other reviews. No one has parked in my assigned spot. The only "con" is the trash receptacles are very small and often spilled over/ stacked up with furniture and items that basically could have been donated. Kids here play mainly unsupervised but have not been an issue or caused problems. The interior of my 3 bedroom is average size. It does not have an actual linen closet for towels, sheets, etc but instead offers a coat and regular room closet in the hallway and the master has a HUGE walk in closet(that could be either a closet or an office space because it is really that big) The washer dryer seems deluxe to me, as it gives generous space for those extra large loads and doesn't take hours to dry. The rooms are on the average size, big enough for a bed, dresser, and lamp and some leftover floor space. The apartment also gets lots of natural lighting from the windows, which I love. Overall, this is a great community to live in, and I am always trying to refer people here, especially coming from Ca where there were no affordable housing units EVER available. The process to get in was kind of a tedious task, but management works with you to make sure you get everything you need and answers questions you might have. I definitely am happy with my choice to live here and plan on being here for a while.
Zephyr Pointe is trash. Management is horrendous and breaks laws whenever possible to convenience themselves, including giving us notice that they would enter our apartment for an "inspection" at 9AM the next day, after giving us notice at 2PM. While this isn't a big deal to us - we don't have anything to hide and didn't need to do cleaning or anything, but the law states we need 24 hours notice, and we need that time to adjust our schedules around people walking in and out of our apartment. Parking is a nightmare - people park in other people's reserved parking spots, people street park like crazy, and nothing is ever done by management. When we were not given enough notice for an inspection, we refused entry as was our legal right, and then the retaliation started. We got a nasty note on our door for the next inspection a few days later (these happen all too often) and then we got nastiness from the management in the office, and they capped it off by screwing us on our deposit at the end of our lease. We moved out on 10/4, and got zero word from them about our deposit until yesterday, 11/29 when they called to say we owed them an extra $140 on top of our deposit for ridiculous charges, and if we did not pay by today (11/30) they threatened to send debt collection agencies after us which would destroy our credit. Keep in mind, we heard NOTHING from them until yesterday at 9:44 AM. There’s plenty more I could go on about, including people with loud cars and motorcycles revving their engines at 2 in the morning and neighbors selling drugs, but the worst part of our time at Zephyr Pointe was the management, plain and simple. Moving to Zephyr Pointe Apartments was a mistake, and I know I'm not alone - I have never met a tenant who is happy living there, and I'm so glad I have moved on. I just wish I had had this warning before I moved in!
DO NOT MOVE HERE. I lived here for a year and a half and it was the worst place I’ve ever lived. Management is awful and never dealt with any issues around the complex. The biggest issue while living there was parking. There is never anywhere to park unless you’re lucky enough to come home from work before 4pm and find a spot. I had one assigned parking spot and at least 10 times I came home to someone parked in my spot. I’m not joking. It was a nightmare. I complained enough that finally management decided to just give me tow notices to place on the cars when they were in my assigned spot but they still would never follow up to tow anyone! There were also several times that I almost hit a child while driving 5 mph through the parking lot because they would just run out from behind cars into the street and there were NEVER any parents around watching them. Management also tried entering my apartment without 24 hours notice. Luckily I caught them on it. They came into my apartment to do “inspections” so many times I lost count. I understand this is section 8, but it was beyond ridiculous. When I moved out, I waited over a month for my deposit, but instead got a phone call from them claiming I owed move out fees!! They claimed they sent a detailed list of expenses but I never received it. (I run an eBay shop and check my mail frequently, so there was no way I missed it.) They called me TWO DAYS before the fees were due and threatened to send the bill to collections even though I never got it. If you move here, expect to lose your entire deposit AND an additional $140 in fees! Paint alone was $355! Absolutely ridiculous. We left the apartment in great condition with no excess damage, just normal wear from living here for 1.5 years. This place takes advantage of the poor and people who don’t know any better. STAY AWAY. FAR FAR AWAY.
It has washer and dryer in apt. A nice pool. Staff is friendly and do repairs quickly. It has onsite gym and nice playgroud. Covered parking and central air conditioners in every apt.
