It may not have the flashy reputation of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but Sacramento embodies the very best of what makes California so unique. The city is well known for preserving its history, from early settlements like Sutter’s Fort to the gorgeous 19th century architecture of Old Sacramento to the artifacts in the Sacramento History Museum. Pop culture and the fine arts are well-represented, with local stages hosting symphony concerts and rock shows and galleries displaying works by the old masters as well as modern upstarts. The local restaurant scene is famous for its heavy emphasis on “farm to fork” principles, making it one of the best places to find fresh, locally sourced food.
Those living in Sacramento love to take advantage of the mild climate, whether that means biking the River Trail, taking the kids to Fairytale Town, or heading over to Sutter Health Park to catch a River Cats baseball game.

Property Ratings at Aspire Sacramento Apartments
We cleaned the apartment top to bottom and they still charged a $259 cleaning fee for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were the perfect renters and they gouged us. Never again will we rent there. Terrible.
Maintenance failed to fix plumbing multiple times. Showers consistently clog. The parking lot is tiny with many big trucks/vans blocking corners, multiple accidents have taken place. Low stance cars consistently scrape the tall parking blocks and can be heard all hours of the night. Walls are very thin, being able to hear my neighbor's normal conversations. Overall not worth the price compared to the surrounding complexes.
Lived here for an year, and I have never been so excited for the lease to end. Lived on the second floor and OMG summer was the worst we had only one bedroom but let me tell you we slept in the living room because it was hecka hot, no central AC only a small thing in the wall. Floors make more noise than who knows what. They are so bad that they renamed the apartments 3 times already. Don’t fall for the outside look or the sample room unit they show you, Expectation vs.Reality is poor. I don’t understand how anyone survives in those apartments with two bedroom. Also reaching the office is IMPOSSIBLE. Save your money DO NOT LIVE HERE…..
I escaped from living here a couple of months ago, but here's my comprehensive review. First off, a big THANK YOU to the very wealthy owner of the complex for raising my rent (and all others) almost $150 in a year during a pandemic. Nice move. Very classy. Apartment needs: 1) Grind down some of the white parking curbs, which have torn up my front bumper as well as on the cars of many of my neighbors. Better yet - get rid of them completely? 2) Deal with the cockroaches throughout the complex. Read that again - COCKROACHES that are in many apartments throughout the complex. 3) A great way to remind people that they are merely renting a living space and NOT a place they can call home by banning all outside plants, many of which were visible, and lovely, when I first moved in. 4) Security? Really? You say we have it, but yet EVERY time there is a loud argument going on in the parking lot (often) there is NEVER a presence. 5) Raising the speed bumps before someone or something gets killed would be a nice addition, as some clever residents think it's a 35mph speed limit driving through the complex. There's more. Here's what you are getting into if you rent here: 1) Blazing hot with no central AC. Unless you are ready to spend about $600 extra right off the bat, DO NOT move into an upstairs apartment. If you are willing to buy two large portable swamp coolers and two window fans, then you MIGHT be able to bear with the heat. Typically around 84-86 degrees inside my apartment with nothing turned on, and I lived downstairs. 2) Common sense? Here at The Retro? Not so much. REALLY? Every time you lock your car you need the horn to honk? Even at 3am? Do you really need to argue and fight in the parking lot? Nice touch also for people to walk around outside very early in the morning using their cell phone on speakerphone and their outside voice. Love being woken up by a loud phone conversation. You are SO loud, yet SO quiet when I walk by you, as you never say hello? Pros: Nice pools, great location, TONS of storage, nice looking apartment, close to Sac State (I'm a student) and close to the bike trail. Reasonably priced (or was). Apartment life at The Retro is what you make of it - There are some GREAT people who live and work here, but I wish there were more of them and I sincerely wish the owner was one of the good people. One can always dream...
I've lived here for a few months and my roommate has lived here a couple years. We both really like it! Have had no problems with management or repairs/upkeep and all staff seem friendly. Neighbors are generally pleasant. Great location for CSUS students. No, it's not the newest or nicest (my sink has some rust spots, the dishwasher doesn't drain quite all the water, other signs of age on walls inside and outside), but that stuff doesn't bug me. I'd rather have affordable rent and a good location, which this is. I feel pretty safe here as a female and haven't had any incidents. Sure, sirens go by often; only one night I was woken up by some drunk person outside. Overall, it's been a very positive experience.
This is my first apartment and its not bad they were built in the sixties also have a gas wall heater the price for rent is pretty to only 626.00 dollars a month the only utility i have is electronic water sewer and gas are paid by the apartment manager and the have swimming pool and onsite laundry and outdoor grills
