What Makes Your Listing Page Appeal to a Renter

When searching for an apartment, renters begin by browsing through listings. They might scroll past several before one catches their eye. Once you have their attention, you don’t want to lose it. By creating a listing that answers all their questions, they will be more likely to schedule a tour. Remember, viewing apartments is time-consuming, so most renters will only tour places they’re truly interested in.

So, how do you catch a renter’s eye, answer all their questions, and leave them intrigued enough to schedule a tour? By creating a listing that stands out!

Your property description is important, but text doesn’t often catch a potential renter’s attention, especially if they are scrolling on the go. In addition to your description, be sure to include the following.

Photos

According to Apartments.com research, 90 percent of renters say that photos and other media are a critical part of their decision-making process. Photos are a very important part of your listing because they help give prospective renters an idea of what it would be like to live in your community. Your photos answer questions renters may have, such as what the pool looks like or whether there’s enough space in the living room for their sofa.

Your description and your photos work together to create a full picture for potential renters, so include both in your listing.

Videos

Why include a video in your listing? A recent study conducted by Matterport showed that videos can boost rental inquiries by as much as 95 percent! In addition, listings with video tours get clicked on 40 percent more often than listings that don’t include video.

Reviews

When renters are looking for apartments, most will check your reviews. In fact, 98 percent of consumers feel that reviews are an essential resource when making purchase decisions, according to a recent survey by PowerReviews.

Since consumers want to read reviews, including reviews directly on your listing allows potential renters to get all the information they need in one location. If they can’t find reviews on your listing, they will probably go searching for them. Once they’ve left your listing, they might not make it back. They could stumble upon another listing that has reviews or move on to something else entirely.

Your property description, photos, videos, and reviews combine to create an eye-catching listing for potential renters. Make sure you use each of these features to your advantage!
