Property Ratings at Hills at Hacienda Heights
Cons: - This place is old. They just keep adding fresh paint to the walls. - The AC units are not big enough to keep the whole apartment cold. You will hate the summer. - Got a water leak in my living room which took 5 weeks to repair. (check the ceiling when you go to your open house. If you see a white square that means it has prior water damage. - Water pressure is weak. _ Car got towed out of my own parking space. $300 cost - You will not get your deposit back at the end of your lease. Goodbye $500. Pros: -Nice Neighborhood -Big rooms - Package lockers
My family and I just moved out this past month and our experience with the complex left us with mixed feelings. It’s a little pricey but for the washer/ dryer in unit and fridge and stove also included, the price doesn’t seem as bad. For being such a big complex, it’s surprisingly very quiet and the pools aren’t really too crowded. The residents are nice and no one really seemed strange or questionable. But the issues were parking, lack of security, and bugs. The parking slots are very narrow and all it takes is someone to park crooked to take up a good portion of your spot. And if you have more than one vehicle and don’t want to pay for another spot, you’re only chances are to either park in guest parking or try parking on the street which is always crowded. The biggest concern was lack of security. In the 9 months my family lived there, one of our cars was broken into while it was in the gated area. The incident happened around 8 in the morning and it was common to see cars windows broken into in the gated area. With no cameras in the gated parking areas, break ins were happening at least once a month or once every 6 weeks. Management only replaced our gate clicker and could t really do much after. I don’t blame the management for the break ins, but security is too minimal for how frequent the incidents are. And lastly, the community has a lot of trees which is nice but it also means a lot of bugs, mosquitos in the summer time and A LOT OF SPIDERS. Huge ones.... I don’t mean to be completely negative because the apartment was really nice and the community is great and very involved. My family left because of the security issue as it was my main concern with my wife pregnant. If you can overlook those things the community is great and the apartments are very nice and clean.
I just moved in 9/17/18. I had a great full tour of the property, I was happy that I was offered a partial tour as well. The grounds are beautiful, nice pool-one is heated, I’m excited to use the 24hr gym with yoga section. I’ve lived at many apartments with great history so I have high expectations. They have EVERYTHING I wanted and needed at this apt. I have a 2/2 that is soooo beautiful and spacious. I love the finished, gas range, huge closets with tall mirrors. They are pet friendly and that was very important to me, lots of puppy stations when walking around. I checked every single thing, door, knob, window, faucet, and every inch of the ground. This apartment gets a 9.5/10 Things FOR ME to get used to: Parking is very different from what I’m used to. Luckily you get an assigned spot but it’s a distance from the spot, down the hallway to my apartment. The closer gate to my apartment is permanently locked. No central ac. The units do keep the apartment cool. The sounds will have to become my white noise. The long hallways to get to the apartment. I was worried at first because I live alone, I’m super cautious because my job has me coming home at all kinds of hours. Talking to King in the office and walking around the property made me feel safe. It’s gated and the walking gates are key accessible. I’m falling more in love with my home by the second and I’m thankful the process with easy. I pretty much walked in got a tour and signed my lease later that day. Most friendly, fast process for an apartment ever. Even after moving in I had a few concerns. King was able to get me in and he was so helpful. He put my mind at ease and even worked with me on getting a closer parking space. This is home. I’ve worked hard to get here and I’m so appreciative of this beautiful home, I deserve it. Oh yea, I did a lot of shopping around and it’s super affordable too!! Especially for all the ammenities.
This is my first time looking for an apartment and using Apartments.com made it easy. I was able to land a lease in less that a week - thank you. The location is perfect for my daughter's school and walking distance for my wife's shopping. The landscaping is a mini amazon forest. Most importantly this location is far enough from traffic noise and close enough to the 60 freeway. As everyone knows this the perfect center of Metropolitan Los Angeles which makes it a breeze to come and go to any direction.
The complex is peaceful, and I'm near one of the pools, so even with that noise it's pretty quiet. Maintenance tends to issues quickly, and the girls in the leasing office are always helpful. Overnight security is kind of a joke though, so don't rely on them. Parking is probably the biggest problem here; you only get one space, and it's pretty narrow. Also, there's no central air, only heating. Other than that, the grounds are well kept, so, overall it's a nice place to live.
Decent 2 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms ,kitchen and living room. The complex is kept clean for the most part. Gardeners working early morning to up keep greenery. 3 large pools and 2 Jacuzzi's. Helpful staff and good parking. I couldn't ask for a better living space.
Amazing apartment homes and great and wonderful staff! The apartment community is lovely! Green, clean, and very peaceful. The units themselves are very spacious and have a washer and dryer inside the unit!!! That alone deserves 10 stars! Although the unit is large, the staff definitely make you feel at home! The small but nice gestures they make to make you feel appreciated as tenants cannot go unnoticed-- from handing out breakfast/snack bags as we leave our parking structure in the morning to acknowledging the parent's on Mother's and Father's Day through providing food/having small gatherings! Each staff member at Carmel is great... and living at Carmel is a great community and environment to live in! You will be pleased!
At first I fell in love with the apartment, a little pricey for the area but worth it for the washer & dryer that was included. After a month of moving in we started realizing that there was a really bad bug problem. The bugs were everywhere, even coming out of the sockets. Asked the other people who lived there if they had the same problem & they said yes. Also you have to pick very wisely about your apartment placement because ours is in the middle of one of the buildings & we get no air circulation what so ever it gets super hot. Besides those two problems, I like the security that walks around at night. They also have two nice pools & a gym.
