The West End neighborhood has breathtaking views from almost every area – but the views at Point Defiance Park are especially top-notch. There are two full-service shopping districts in the community, but it’s mostly a residential suburb.
When they’re not at their West End apartments, locals are relaxing by the water at Owen Beach or watching the zoo animals roam. The Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is located in the park, and a great representation of the first Puget Sound settlement in the 1800s.
The natural scenery is quite unmatched – and you’re just minutes from class at Tacoma Community College.

Property Ratings at Lakeside Landing Apartments
Toured this place recently, it was really amazing and had a beautiful community. Yolanda did a great job showing me around. The office staff were very welcoming, could see myself making this a home for sure!

Thank you so much for your kind words, we're thrilled to hear that you had an amazing experience touring our community. Yolanda and our office staff take pride in providing excellent service and we can't wait to have you as a part of our community.
I love that the office is open 7 days a week since I work a lot I can always go in on the weekends and still get assistance which I feel like is rare. The leasers always have a good attitude and are able to answer my questions. Much better than my old apartment.

We moved in Aug 2023 and are very happy with our choice. We care more about being able to walk outside on to grass rather than busy pavement. The property is very walkable and dog friendly. The buildings are a little older. no ceiling lights so string lights and lamps are the go to. honestly it makes a nice for a nice ombiance so we don't mind. water heater is small so long baths are hard to take. Staff is friendly and always working on somthing.

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. Please see my third point. First, they might as well not offer any amenities because they are always broken. They will never fix the gate, and there is trash everywhere. Second, the lowest rent they offer is far too much for tiny space you will occupy. The "full bath" is a joke. Third, and most importantly, the management is willfully neglegent about papaerwork that is sent and recieved. They conviently lost our lease renewal paperwork and then had the audacity to put us on a month to month plan without our knowledge. They will not resign us for a year like we had originally hoped without charging the extra rent that we "owe" for being on a month to month plan. So if the management happens to read this review, thanks for pushing out a military memeber and his 9 months pregnant wife!

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us and would like to address your concerns. Please don't hesitate to email me at mmiller@missionrockres.com. Thank you!
Don't move here! If you are like most of us you are trying to recover from lost income during Covid still and this place wants to raise your rent. I never missed a payment during Covid either. They raise your rent every time you turn around. I signed a lease back in April for 11 months and they conveniently lost it and are now trying to raise my rent. They always let the trash pile up and blow all over the complex. The laundry room was down for well over a month. I had a vehicle broken into will the security gate was broken. The gate has been broken for a few months. Today they called me and said governor Inslee gave the ok to raise rent. I said maybe he did, but the issue is should you? Their response was we lost money and need to recover. Guess what, so does the people living here. The woman that called was completely oblivious to everything. Do yourself a favor and don't rent from Mission Rock or anyone associated with them!
Terrible apartment complex. Overpriced. Not well maintained. Mold galore. Bad management. Loud! Paper thin walls. Disrespectful landscapers. They could invest in new washer dryers. Amenities are not up to par. Broken gate for over 9 months. Renters beware.
I am a usually pretty easy going guy, but after being woken up by construction projects and landscaping 4 days in the last 4 weeks before 8 am, it's getting ridiculous. Now they want to do gutter repairs december 24th 26th 27th???? Seriously?!? Probably gonna take them off leave them all over the place for Christmas and then wake me up at 7am on the 26th. Thanks guys!
We have lived here for the last 4 years. Ever since the change of ownership of the apartment. The service from the staff is very direspectful. When asked a question they seem to be annoyed by the the question. Also service request are not completed in a timely manner. When asked about the sevice request they always seem to have an excuse on why it hasnt been completed.
Gate broke, Laundry Card Machine Broken, Hot tub broken.........Hot tub and laundry card have been over a month broken. Management does not fix things in a timely manner. Its a nice scenery. That's about it. When you call management, you expect someone to treat you with respect. Not here.
I have lived at Lakeside Landing for nearly a year and enjoy living here. It has never taken them more than a couple days to complete a maintenance request for me, and it has always been taken care of professionally. The property manager was very nice and helpful with all my questions. Apartment is up to date and the vaulted ceilings make it feel more spacious than it already is. Neighbors are generally nice and respectful. They work very hard to upkeep the property and it shows. I plan on renewing my lease when it comes time.
WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! We've lived here for years and ever since this apartment complex was taken over by Mission Rock last summer, it went down the crapper! Where do I begin???? Let's start with the Asbestos!!!! Yup, you read right! It's been confirmed recently that one building has it. This means, since all of these buildings were built around the same time, there's a high chance almost all of these buildings have it. They let go almost all of their maintenance and ground crew. Which means, there's a hand full of guys to fix any and all problems around the entire complex. This place has been drastically declining on its appearance due the lack of employees they have for the upkeep. They're admin staff needs retraining on customer service. Sometimes rude and condescending, these women act annoyed when approached with a problem or issue. I agree with the previous post, they are very impersonal. They raised garbage costs and our place still looks like trash. And get this, the even reduced the amount of dumpsters in the parking lots. Leaving 1 for 3 buildings. Garbage is always overflowing. They take forever getting back to you with an issue that you may have. They try to charge you for little things here and there. Why? I don't know, but maybe its to get some money back. But how much money can you get back from a LIGHT BULB????? YES, A LIGHT BULB!!!! they'll charge you per bulb, when previously it was just taken care of. absolutely ridiculous. They dont keep up with the pool and hot tub. sometimes, it looks really dirty to where you dont even want to swim in it. Every year they rent sky rockets, and for what they're charging now, you could pretty much pay for a mortgage. Now, let's talk about the lies. They advertise with sayings like, "spacious" and "any chefs dream" for their kitchens........yea, uh, no! It's not that spacious at all. And this "gourmet kitchen" is more like a dorm kitchen. Good luck having 2 people in there cooking at the same time. Needless to say, we're moving...soon! This place is absolutely not worth what they're charging. Stay clear from this place and find yourselves a better one.
Lakeside Landing offers up a unique “WOW" factor not commonly seen in other apartments in this area. It’s a fairly vast, gated complex with beautifully maintained grounds and several man-made lakes that not only contribute to the property’s name, but provide charming lake views for some of the units. Overall, the aesthetic allure of the property is very enticing. The units itself are very spacious, especially for the price. There is a giant entryway closet that provides more than ample storage, especially for apartment living. In addition to the storage, the top floor units have vaulted ceilings (some with skylights), which give the rooms a more spacious feel. Garbage bins are conveniently located all over the grounds, and are emptied frequently. The complex is gated and requires a key-card or remote, but remains open throughout the day. By far the biggest issue I have with this apartment is the water pressure/temperature. Each unit has a VERY small water heater located under the sink, which is very weak. Showers will stay warm for about 5 minutes before the temperature begins to plummet significantly. The same applies to hand washing dishes, and the water pressure from the kitchen/bathroom faucet is less than adequate. Also, the appliances and the overall kitchen itself are extremely outdated. The other downfall is that there are no washers/dryers in the unit. Doing laundry at the on-site facilities can be a major inconvenience, but to be fair, we were fully aware of the setup before signing our lease. Lakeside Landing is a beautiful property, that, like all apartments, has its share of pros & cons. So far, our experience has been about average, but because we would like to be closer to our jobs, we will most likely be moving at the end of our lease. Also, some of the issues I’ve listed have proven to be deal breakers in terms of residing here long-term. If you’re looking for a moderately quiet, well-kept community with affordable prices, this is definitely an option you’ll want to consider. However, if you’re looking for certain amenities that come standard in many other apartments (washing/dryer in-unit, water heaters with a higher capacity, etc.), and a truly gated property, then you’ll want to look elsewhere.
