Hagerstown, MD, is the county seat of Washington County in the western region of the state and Maryland's 18th largest city. Covering an area of 12.91 square miles, the community has a population of 40,638 residents. The city is in close proximity to Frederick, Mount Airy and Westminster, MD. The state of Maryland was one of the country's original colonies, and settlers who arrived in 1736 in western Maryland, then considered a wilderness, were offered land at a very small cost as an enticement to persuade these newcomers to settle in this attractive region
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, located in Hagerstown's historic City Park, has been praised for being one of the leading small museums in the country. It offers a surprisingly broad variety of fine arts exhibitions for viewers of all ages, housing over 7,000 works of art representing worldwide artists and cultures. The Maryland Theatre is a central feature of the Arts and Entertainment district of the city.

Property Ratings at Parkview Place
THEY WILL KEEP YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT WITHOUT CAUSE!!!! If that sounds like a place to stay, just keep in mind that a good portion of your security deposit will not be refunded. They kept 400 of our security deposit for a deep clean carpet, and apartment cleaning. Even though for example the carpet had no stains. We didn't even wear shoes in the apartment.
I will first start off by addressing the "thin walls" comments you have read in the other reviews. I would have to agree with those comments for the walls are actually really thin. I am on the second floor & I can hear my neighbors above me walking, talking sometimes & also hear their tv's. Does this bother me? Honestly no it doesn't. So if this does bother you, I highly recommend you do not look into this apartment complex. I will mention if you get a complex towards the back, you will be hearing the trains come and go since the railroad is across the fence but in my opinion it does not does it bother us. The kitchen is very small. There isn't a whole lot of storage in the kitchen cabinets either. Not much counter space. I deal with it & adjusted but if I had one honest take away from these apartments, it would definitely be the kitchen. The closet in the second bedroom is tiny. I do like the windows in all the rooms it brings alot of natural light in but I hate that the heaters are right below so if you are going to hang curtains make sure to get short ones because it is a "fire hazard". The master bedroom is great. I love the size and the walk in closet. The restroom is small but still good. Living room is a decent size as well as the den area. If you move here and have your own washer/dryer, have them removed the closet doors ahead of time because your washer and dryer will not fit with those doors attached. The best part about Parkview is the maintenance work. They do a great job at treating the roads and side walks ahead of snowfall. Landscaping is good and just a great area in general. I notice about every two weeks someone mopping and vacuuming the stairs and landings. We haven't had any problems with other tenants here thankfully. Everyone keeps to themselves but in a polite way. The only thing you pay out of pocket will be electricity. Is the apartment worth the $? I say if you do rent of here, it is only worth it if you do a long term lease, a year or more. Overall we will most likely be extending our lease here for another year. There are some pros and cons just like any of the other places. Like I said earlier, if you don't want to deal with the thin walls then this place is NOT for you. The property is maintained and well-cleaned. The staff is friendly from my experiences with them and I have no issues. You will not find a perfect apartment around here lets face it. So I hope this review will help you in making a decision.
Honestly living in a college dorm is better than this place. If you do decide to rent here make sure it’s on the 3rd floor or else your life will be miserable. I’m on the second and you can hear EVERYTHING that your neighbors are doing above and below you (you think I’m kidding) .The walls are super paper thin!! I get that it’s “apartment living” and you will hear people, but not to the extent of hearing people’s phone calls and what tv show they are watching(I know it’s creepy but it’s true). Headphones will be your best friend.Rent here is also ridiculous for what you’re getting. You’re better off buying a house (if you can afford it) where you can find peace and quiet. My lease will be up in a few months and I can’t wait to get out .
Everything about this apartment has been wonderful except for the incredibly thin walls and the creaky floors. My husband and I signed a lease here back in September and we have been MISERABLE ever since. We listen to our neighbors television ALL day long and every time they walk, it sounds like they are going to come through our ceiling. We have addressed this with management, but there is nothing that they can do. This issue is a huge risk that you take when deciding to rent here. Once you sign a lease, there is no way out of it. I will never rent from another apartment after living at this complex. It has ruined the whole experience for me because I will never risk getting stuck in another lease and spending a fortune every month for a place that I am miserable in. You deserve to have peace in your own home, but that is not guaranteed here. Please consider this before renting here.
My wife and I lived here for almost 3 years in a 1 bed, Den / 2 ba. We recently moved due to job transfers. They were well run and overall we had a good experience here. The maintenance guy, Buck, was always outstanding and fixed any issues within a day. Pros: Great location. You are within walking distance of Pangborn Park. Moments from Weis grocery store and within 5 mins of most everything you need. Well lit parking lots. Good cabinet space. Plenty of windows inside apartment for natural light. Security codes let you in buildings, which makes you feel safe. Never had any problems with neighbors. Cons: Baseboard heat is expensive. Ceilings are a little thin. We had great upstairs neighbors though and it wasn't bad, simply normal apartment living. We were on the first floor and it was difficult to open our windows due to the air conditioner units being right there, which were very loud. No porch/deck. Overall, I would rent from here again if the opportunity arose and I want to personally thank Erica, Angel, and Buck for their dedication to running a nice place to live.
Nice, Clean & Reasonable & The Staff Members Are Very Courteous & Helpful.
