Stonewood Gardens was a dump in 1979 when it was built, it's still a dump as Pointe Luxe. They modernized this complex a few years ago and changed the name to sound more luxurious but it was just lipstick on a pig. The "updated" units still have the same cheap pressboard cabinets from 1979, and they got rid of 3 of the cabinets on the wall so now you have even less space than the original kitchen. They started painting in the 3 story buildings. The people that run this complex are clowns, because they replaced the light fixtures AFTER painting was completed leaving a mark on the ceiling where the old light fixture was. Not only that, but the floors were covered in dead termites after they removed the light fixtures. Painting is still not done on the third floor and has been ongoing for over a month. Parking is awful. They have a handshake agreement with Western Towing to tow any cars, even those with parking passes. No guest parking, and you can only use the visitor parking in the front if you get a pass from the office during the hours they're open. Which means if you have guests at night, they can't park there. So forget about your friends coming over. No package locker so packages get left in the halls by your door, where they eventually get stolen. The back parking gate has been broken for a few weeks now, and is always breaking. Homeless walk through the complex, stealing everything not bolted down and going through the trash cans. In short, you could do alot better than this complex.

I have been really impressed with the service provided by Lena the complex Assistant Manager. From initial contact with Lena, she really took care of us very warmly! All requests and questions were responded to in a prompt manner and every part of the service was first class. I’ve lived here a Number of years and so happy to be within walking Distance too all of the Major Restaurants and stores. I also, Love being So Close to the Beaches as well , even though we have a Spa Pool and Jacuzzi , I still love the closeness Beaches ! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys to be frequently woken in the middle of the night! The heavy metal emergency and exit doors of this apartment complex are slamming all day and all night because they don't close slowly and even shake our walls. We've complained multiple times so did my neighbors and they always reassure us this will be fixed but nothing has been done in the past 4 month! Our stay here at point luxe has been truly horrible with many frustrated nights!!!! This is clearly another place that takes advantage of the current housing situation in san diego and doesn't care about their Tennants.

While at first this complex looks really good, amenities and location, the apartments themselves are so cheaply done even the cabinets doors fall off. They use the cheapest materials in order to keep as much of your deposit as possible, carpets, vinyl, and paint. The walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbors do, every conversation in the hallways you can hear even when your bedroom doors are closed. They increase the rent as much as legally possible every year. The new gates they put in are extremely inefficient unless you have a clicker to use you can’t get in unless you follow someone in or out because the calling system does not work. There is very limited parking after 5:30pm so if you have to get groceries after work you’ll be hard pressed to find a spot near your apartment. They changed the name of the complex to sound more luxury but all they did was put lipstick on a pig.
This place is dirty, unsafe, and not worth your rent.
