Just north of downtown, Berryesa is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood that puts the best of San Jose at your doorstep. Residents enjoy a unique array of dining options: Pacific Rim Plaza, for example, allows you to enjoy a French breakfast at Paris baguette, Hawaiian fish salad at Poke House, Chinese roast at Kim Tar, Vietnamese sweets at BAMBU, or a trendy Korean dinner at Gen Korean BBQ House, all within the same complex. On the north side, Great Mall is one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations, and includes a 20-screen multiplex movie theater.
Silicon Valley University occupies a large chunk of the neighborhood, making it a great community for students, faculty, and staff members. Easy access to Interstates 880 and 680, the 101, and San Jose International Airport, Berryessa is a great location for folks who are often on the go.

Property Ratings at The Platform Urban Apartments
While the Apartment interior is exceptional, the journey to get there may involve a few obstacles, such as trash, dog poop, vomit, and the occasional homeless person. But hey, at least the end result is worth it, right?
I have been a resident of 3 year and can't wait to get out of here. The first year, it was a nice complex and it has turn into a dump. The management is terrible and do not reinforce any policy to assure the "luxury" living maintains it value. It definitely not worth what you pay for. The packages are constantly stollen and the administration will not do anything about it. The tenants sure don't help but if could all be better if it had better management. One star is the least you can leave but this place does not deserve 1 start.
Dog poop and pee all over the place including the elevators Garbage all over the place - I'm talking boxes of food, discarded TVs, shopping carts, and car maintenance items like oil. Mail theft - I had 3 packages stolen including an entire living room rug. People partying in the pool and lobby well past quiet hours while drinking/smoking and blasting music People smoking on their balconies The locks to the back entrances of the building are constantly broken so that homeless people can get in and LIVE in the building - they also destroy the locks of the doors in the stairwells that lead to the hallways of the building - they'll prop the doors open with anything they can find. I've run into homeless people many times and when I've called security they don't answer and their voicemail inbox is full - they're probably sleeping, I've seen them do this often. Things constantly broke or NEVER work like the outdoor fireplace Kids going around on their scooters/bikes in the hallways screaming and knocking on doors/ringing doorbells The leasing office NEVER answers the phone, email, voicemails - they don't care about their tenants so the tenants don't care either which is why they trash the place - there's no accountability on either wide. During my move out inspection I was told the carpet of my bedroom looked fine BUT the leasing office would most likely hire someone to clean it EVEN IF I hired my own person to professionally clean it because they wouldn't "acknowledge" it - wtf? Cars broken into even the ones in the gated garage area. Don't be fooled by how nice it may look on the outside. It's unsafe. It's loud. It's dirty.
MOVE HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! We pay $100 per vehicle for gated parking but there are break ins every week. Why are we even paying parking if it's the same as parking on the street? Packages are always being stolen and even with cameras all over the place, they can never catch who is stealing the mail. The leasing office is useless. There is supposedly security but always never to be found when break-ins happen. Earlier this year, the management sent out notices that they had to do mandatory inspections for all the units in the building. I told them I do not consent and still they said it was mandatory and they came in and TOOK PHOTOS OF MY UNIT WITHOUT INFORMING ME OR MY CONSENT. A month later, they once again sent out emails saying they had to do ANOTHER INSPECTION. I emailed them back and said no, we just had an inspection a month ago and they told me that it was mandatory. JUST TO LET ANYONE WHO STILL DECIDES TO MOVE HERE KNOW, ACCORDING TO THE LEASE AGREEMENT, THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO ENTER IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY. I sent that part to the leasing office and mentioned how they took photos of everyone's unit without permission. They didn't reply and no one came to my unit to do any "inspections". According to other tenants, when someone came to their apartment to do the inspection, the inspector says they don't know why the management would say that them entering the unit is mandatory when it wasn't. The leasing office lied to us when we first moved in. We wanted to move to an apartment where we didn't need a fob to get to any of the floors. Almost a month after moving in, they changed that. We had specifically told them the fob was a deal breaker. I'm sure they knew that the change in the fob was coming but didn't bother telling us because taking our money is more important than our needs and wants. I have never heard of an apartment complex not allowing their tenants to use the club house UNLESS THEY RENT IT FOR $300. When we first moved in, they said the club house was free for everyone to use. After a couple months, they changed it. The club house is locked unless you pay.
You can live here if you don't mind losing your package every month. I have lost 2 packages within 3 months that I lived here, because their mail room is just in the lobby of the leasing office. So many strangers come in and out there freely. The apartment has made everyone signed their package to a 3rd party locker they put there, but not all the delivery people follow the instruction and just leave your package on the floor. I have lost hundreds of dollars so far, hope not to lose more for the remaining 9 months I live here. The apartment said they are going to do something, but I don't really see any change. In the end, they just want to convince you that they are doing something, but in fact they are very weak in protecting tenants' assets!
I saw these apartment advertisement online. I even took a tour this place once before, this time I made an appointment several day before. The last appointment they offer on their website is at 5:30 pm because they close at 6pm, so I chose 5:15 pm. I rushed over after work because I wanted to be on time. When I got there, they had like five people waiting to be helped. I told them that I made an appointment several days before, I was informed that my appointment was not valid because they had many people waiting to be helped, and one of the staff members told me very rudely that they all had appointments. They should not offer so many appointments at the same time so they can help everyone. I walked out and don't want to come back! I won't rent from them!!
I moved in a few months after my building opened, very modern & beautiful building. However now that it’s mostly populated here are the cons: Neighbors let their kids run through the hallways unsupervised, pressing door bells or on scooters sometimes passed 10/11pm on weekdays. Not to mention around summer time even with the patio door closed & windows shut all you hear is kids and adults in the pool passed midnight at times yelling/playing music/setting off fireworks & it echos throughout the entire inside so good luck if your unit faces in like mine does. Neighbors also seem to be inconsiderate of everyone else as multiple times the smell of marijuana comes through the vents as some choose to smoke indoors even tho it’s a smoke free community. Besides all that small nonsense I actually liked living here, the pros: security access control fobs, on site security, residential garage(parking 100$/car slot or 150$/tandem parking a month) & you will want to get garage parking as there is a lot of car break ins on street parking, amenities(gyms/lounges/bbq areas/pools) & EV charging both in the retail/resident side of the garage, parcel lockers(some parcels just leave your packages on top of lockers instead of using them but so far none have went missing so ????), office staff is helpful & maintenance works pretty fast. All this said, I will not be releasing & the poor rating is due to the fact that when mentioning I did want to release they mentioned my rent would be going up to 3000$ for a 1b1b (not penthouse or floor level) due to my “promotional pricing” being expired & mentioning I cannot release alone due to this taking my income req nearly 6.5k to 9k a month even though I’ve had 0 issues paying my rent on a consistent basis. I found it odd for it to jump that much being a lot of places usually offer to keep your rate or sometimes offer additional offers when for renewals. It seems this place is a 1 lease term community because once it’s up they want you out to lease it for more rather than keeping long term tenants. Such a shame. If you’re looking just for a year lease or you have roommates who don’t mind paying more each year, great place. Other than that save yourself the headache of having to move after 1yr.

Please contact our Customer CARES manager at (888) 962-2737 so we can discuss your concerns. Thank you, Western National Property Management
Granted this place is quick about responding to maintenance request. They don’t actually fix the problem. Instead they make you feel as it is your fault for why something isn’t working or just say it is always been like that so they can’t do anything about it. For example, the master bedroom doesn’t get cold because there is no air flow to it. I called maintenance to come take a look at it and they said that its always been like that and there’s nothing that they can do. If you have get anything over a one bedroom, you probably wont get any airflow to the rooms that aren’t near the AC so the room won’t get cold when you need it first. I have tried getting this fixed multiple times but they won’t do anything about it. When I first moved in, the AC was leaking and it didn’t get “fixed” until months later. Them trying to fix it just created another problem that I am trying to deal with now. Just crazy how much this place cost and I can’t get air in my apartment as I should. On top of that, there is dog poop everywhere. People don’t clean up behind their dogs here. I have seen where the owners would just watch their dog go and they won’t pick up. The hallways aren’t always clean. I haven’t seen where the fire pits turned on. The pictures look like but you’ll get another experience when you actual stay here. I have tried my best to be patience with them but I won’t be releasing here. If you are someone that needs the AC and getting anything bigger than a one bedroom then your new home won’t be evenly cooled down.
