Whitfield, sometimes referred to by locals as Whitfield Estates, is a dynamic neighborhood off the Sarasota Bay filled with something for just about every resident. On the coast, places like the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee Campus and New College of Florida Waterfront find their home, along with tourist attractions like breathtaking gardens and museums. This section of town also holds modern conveniences including the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport and the shops and restaurants along Highway 41. Additional retail centers, including the Shoppes at University Center, can be found farther inland along University Parkway. The western portion of town also features residential areas complemented by small ponds and lakes. They refuse to accept your 30 days notice and will overcharge you for everything. They do not care about tenants rights. Taking them to court for being overcharged then ignored at move out. Wait for the massive amounts of dog poo in the grass and never finding a parking spot. This place is awful

My parents lived in Timberlake for 4 years. Maria is the greatest landlord I've ever worked with. She was responsive, quick to fix any issues, went above and beyond on solutions and was always lovely to deal with. I never had a problem that she took more than 24 to address (usually it was way way less!). I have sent a number of friends to live at Timberlake and everyone has been as satisfied as I was. I can't say enough good things about living at Timberlake

I know three other current tenants, myself included, who have two month old service requests that have gone unanswered. Serious issues like appliances, plumbing, heating, ect. that impact daily life. I'm considering suing the property over a breach of contract. Do not move in here unless you're ok living without reliable water or reasonable response times.

It's a nice facility but the maintenance team is horrible. I had to call a locksmith who drilled into my lock after I went to the leasing office and the staff wouldn't unlock the door because they were on their lunch break. I them submitted two service requests for a new door lock over a month and it took me complaining to the manager to be able to lock my apartment. I currently have a pluming issue that makes impossible to use my kitchen sink or dishwasher. It's been almost two moths and there has been no response. Nice facility, atrocious service. If I hadn't signed a long term contract I would be gone by now.

Thanking god as our lease comes to an end in this horrific place. From trash everywhere, broken pools,broken fences, broken hot tub, junk in the water coming out of the pipes, unpainted walls, paint chipping off the doors and walls, screws everywhere, broken water heater, CAR WAS HIT and they of course ran, OVER A WEEK WITH BROKEN AIR CONDITIONER (STILL BROKEN), to staff who doesn’t give a flying f. I should’ve known not to move here when the first day we looked around and the leasing agent backed tommy and i up in the golf kart into a residents car. I would NEVER ever suggest this place. They try to come off very friendly and welcoming but the staff is useless and this place is falling apart. They’ve never have been able to keep management or staff in the year I’ve lived here. Apparently they’ve never really have per my neighbors. For the amount of money we pay for this little of space is INSANE. I haven’t talked to one person who was satisfied with living here. FEW MORE WEEKS! Been counting down for the last 8 months ?? A friend has had it WAY worse.. We were the lucky ones! She has no ceiling fan (fell from ceiling) MOLD No cover to her a/c vent after they “fixed” it Went MONTHS with out A/C (luckily in winter) And more.
I move here few days ago and when they give me the keys for the apartment. I went to inspect the apartment before moving in and I noticed Big stains inside the cabinets from the bathroom and the kitchen. Also the wall from the living room have some painting coming off. I told them about it and they told me they would send someone the next day to fixed it but they never did.Ever since I move here I been to the office a few times about the same situation they keep saying that they are going to send someone next day but they never do. On top of that there’s also a leak in the apartment. I talk to the maintenance guy about it and he got angry and told me that they still are working on orders from December 2018 that they still are working on it. I couldn’t believe it we are on May 2019. I been living here only for few days and I been treated very badly. Once my lease expired I’m out of here. I would never recommend this place to anybody. Moving here was a huge mistake.
Pros: Great Location in Phase II. Close to everything, but quiet and serene. The lake view is beautiful. I have enjoyed the fireplace in my unit. Great layout in the 2-bedroom. Bedrooms are completely separate from the living room/dining room/kitchen area. Quick response to maintenance requests. Washer & Dryer hook-ups. Apartments well insulated. Feel safe. Breezeways well lit. Lived here for several years and feel it was a good choice on a tight budget. Cons: Management is tolerable. Some units are not updated with the white cabinets and new appliances. Bathrooms small and outdated. Sales staff "shades" the truth. One example... I was told my unit had granite counter tops among other inaccuracies. Have had a few minor water leaks in ceiling and kitchen. Management cheap when it comes to replacing blinds and carpet and repainting walls before a new resident moves in. Payment on-line not available.
Timberlake recently updated all apartments with brand new everything! Brand spankin' new appliances, new carpet, countertops, paint, everything! The one bedroom apartments are super spacious and have great perks like tons of storage space (including a huge bedroom closet), floor to ceiling mirrors in bedroom and hallway, bathroom doors to the bedroom and the hallway, a big lanai, huge windows, and accent pained walls. Everything was in great condition upon move in. The community pool is extremely nice and includes a fountain, hot tub, and great patio space. The staff is nice, I deal mostly with J'aime, the other staff is very nice but sometimes seems out of the loop. All neighbors that I have met are great and it's never noisy here. Seriously, it's incredibly quiet! There's always ample parking. Nothing to complain of so far!
