How Apartments.com Is Responding to the LA Wildfires

Following the catastrophic wildfires, Apartments.com is focused on providing support to the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Our goal is helping displaced residents find housing resources.

“The destruction has been devastating,” said Paige Forrest, senior vice president at Apartments.com. “We’re absolutely heartbroken by what the Los Angeles community is going through, and we’re driven to do what we can to help.”

Connecting displaced renters with multifamily housing

If your apartment community is currently offering any specials for people displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires, we want to help affected renters find you.

To participate, add the hashtag #HelpingCA to the concessions or rent specials field in your Apartments.com listing, along with your wildfire-related discount details. You can make this update in your feed or Customer Portal.

Apartments.com will highlight these properties to help displaced renters quickly find these options.

Additionally, renters in search of temporary housing can easily search for short-term rentals and furnished rentals in Los Angeles.

Families with school-age children can also search with nearby public schools in mind, including the Los Angeles Unified School District and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

Other resources for renters are coming soon, including updated area guides to help displaced residents in the LA metro get the latest information on local housing options.

Waiving fees to ease the financial burden

Application fees will be waived for renters in the LA metro who apply directly through the Apartments.com website.
